Liverpool suffered their first defeat of the season, as they lost 2-0 to newly promoted Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon.

Sam Vokes put Burnley ahead with a shot from the edge of the area in the second minute, having been set up by Andre Gray after Liverpool right back Nathaniel Clyne gave the ball away.

According to the Daily Mirror, Klopp said: “If one game should change my mind then I would be a real idiot”.

“We spoke to the players about the realities of the division – they’re a fine side, make no mistake, they have players who keep the ball, their pressing”.

“The season is still pretty young”. My job is, first of all, to bring the players in and around the box with movements, passing and show them ways we can use [to penetrate]. “We will work on it 100 percent”. I know about the quality of Burton because, with all our respect, we analysed them and know much more about them than before.

Burton Albion v Liverpool kicks off at 7:45pm BST on Tuesday 23rd August.

The goals were the only shots Burnley mustered on target during the match, but Liverpool failed to find a response despite dominating possession and Dyche feels the result justified his tactics.

“But you have to see through what the opposition are doing and I am really pleased with the players today, because they could have got lost in that game, but they stayed in their shape, stayed diligent and kept working, knowing we had a threat”. “It’s about respecting the game, working hard, playing football”. “We have a few with longer injuries like Lucas [Leiva] – they are now back in training but if we have other options, it’s not a moment where we should force it”.

“I thought we had 90% of possession, but I heard that in the second half it was only 87”. Emre Can could get a recall in midfield after making a substitute appearance last time out.

“We felt we could counter and press from the keeper, and both goals came from the keeper and a counter”. “It depends a little bit on what the doc will tell me, but it’s not really likely that we will change seven or eight positions or something like this – I’m not sure we could do, it’s not the plan”.
