Jurgen Klopp: I had “a good talk” with Brendan Rodgers
In fact, the former Borussia Dortmund manager had been impressed by the Ghanaian forward even when he was at Dortmund, and had reportedly tried to sign him at the Bundesliga club.

Klopp went on to say it was “normal” for a new manager.
“Any player will tell you they need a run of games to get up to speed”. “There are no decisions for now but we know it’s possible in January”.
“I have a good relationship with Borussia Dortmund and a good relationship with all the players there – there is nothing negative between us”.
“We have been watching players for a long time and that is the best way to go about it and we all have an input. And there is no agreement that we can’t sell players to Dortmund either!”
Also Klopp has a knack of not always targeting the obvious in the transfer market.
First-half goals from James Milner and Christian Benteke gave Jurgen Klopp’s side victory after Henri Saivet had given the visitors the lead just past the half-hour mark. But I don’t feel at this moment it would help if we take five players now.
“Our struggles at Anfield are a combination of the type of players we have at the moment, and the uncertainty that still exists among the fans at home which the team then finds impossible to ignore”.
Right now his mind is set on attempting to replicate a Manchester City and Chelsea style performance in front of The Kop today against Swansea City.
That sparked speculation that Klopp had promised Dortmund officials not to tempt his favourite former stars to the Premier League. “It was like watching the Red Arrows”. “I like players like this, he likes playing like this”, he said.
Monk made four changes to his starting XI for last weekend’s league game – a gamble which appeared to backfire after Bournemouth took an early 2-0 lead at the Liberty Stadium.
“If you think about it, what can happen when you aren’t concentrated?”
Klopp added: “I don’t ask the owners but I’m sure we could do”.
“He can be much more dominant in the game, that’s what we are always talking about, but he has a really good personality and in a position like his position it’s very important that you have a good personality”.

Klopp took over from Rodgers at Anfield last month after Liverpool endured a mixed start to the season, and optimism surrounding the German’s arrival on Merseyside hit new heights after last weekend’s stunning 4-1 demolition of Manchester City.
