Jurgen Klopp: It’s easy to hug Liverpool players in fine form
Friday night football provided only frustration for Chelsea as they suffered a 2-1 defeat against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge. On Juergen Klopp’s watch, Liverpool has been strong against Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, and the Manchester clubs, remaining unbeaten in six away games against them, and losing only once in 11 matches. We can play football, we have shown that and now we are convinced about our quality.

Jurgen Klopp is not ready to call his team title challengers, despite taking seven points from trips to Spurs, Chelsea, and Arsenal.
Klopp had expressed his satisfaction with his side’s first half display here, though suggested that they had switched off after Jordan Henderson’s second goal eight minutes before half time. “We have to improve, but we don’t run like insane all the time”. It’s about finding a solution for the opponent. The first half was not that intense, I have no idea how much we ran, but we had the ball for most of it.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte handed a second debut to Brazilian centre-back David Luiz, who returned to the club on transfer deadline day after two seasons at Paris Saint-Germain.
The visitors enjoyed more of the ball in the early stages and duly took the lead as Philippe Coutinho, in the side due to a groin problem for Roberto Firmino, crossed to the back-post where Lovren – and two of his team-mates – stood completely unmarked to sweep home.
Chelsea slumped to a disappointing 10th-place finish last season and Conte warned his players they risk meeting a similar fate this term if they do not sharpen up.
“Of course I want to score”. We have to pay attention in all situations and sometimes we don’t feel the danger. More importantly, it was very clearly his scouting network at work in the summer and that was a big change from the last number of transfer windows, which were a disaster. Because this is not the first time this has happened.
“Chelsea is a great team but we must be a great team on the pitch and think like one”. “To win this league you do need to beat the teams in and around you”.
