Klopp, famous for his passion for heavy metal music, had twice before rejected Liverpool’s advances and ironically he arrives on Merseyside with the club’s talent pool at its lowest ebb for a few time.

His arrival has resulted in a clear-out of many of predecessor Brendan Rodgers’ backroom staff.

Klopps first game in charge of the club will be away at Tottenham in the Barclays Premier League on October 17.

From the moment former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was sacked, Jurgen Klopp’s now-completed move to the club was an open secret.

McAllister will remain the club in an ambassadorial role, not connected to first-team duties.

Liverpool have confirmed a press-conference for Friday morning at 10am, reports the official website.

Assistant manager Sean O’Driscoll, only brought in by Rodgers in the summer, led the departures alongside opposition analyst Chris Davies and performance coach Glen Driscoll, who both followed the former Kop boss from Swansea City in 2012. “Yes, from tomorrow, I’m 24/7 a Liverpool man, but now I have to do a few private things”, Klopp said.

Rodgers had been under pressure since finishing sixth last season and losing the FA Cup semifinal to Aston Villa, with Liverpool owner Fenway Sports Group (FSG) already sounding out Klopp in the summer, though he initially spurned advances.

“All I can do is welcome Jurgen to England and wish him the very best of luck with his job of making Liverpool the top team that the owners would like them to be”.

Klopp is taking charge of a similar club to Dortmund – with its working-class roots, strong heritage and passionate fan base – and many believe the German is a flawless fit at Liverpool.

Klopp, who coached Mainz from 2001-08 and Borussia Dortmund from 2008-15, becomes Liverpool’s 20th manager.

The German coach won two Bundesiliga titles with Dortmund and reached the 2013 UEFA Champions League Final, where they lost to Bayern Munich.
