Jurgen Klopp plays down Daniel Sturridge snub
If Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool have a spine it is that of a limbo dancer.

One club who could have made such an offer is Tottenham Hotspur.
Players who are supple of mind and body revel for these Reds.
A great deal can happen on Deadline Day, but Liverpool’s actions thus far indicate that Danny Ings will continue plying his trade at Anfield this season.
Sturridge isn’t taking things too seriously, at least.
“It’s not like a couple of years ago when we seemed to be so reliant on Sturridge”.
Despite his lack of game time, Ings remains firmly part of Jurgen Klopp’s first-team plans for the 2016-17 season.
While having Klopp’s approval to stay at the Anfield is definitely a good thing for Ings, what is tricky is that he is not expected to gain that much first-team time as he is now fourth in the pecking order of central strikers in the German manager’s preference behind Roberto Firmino, Divock Origi, and Daniel Sturridge, as per Caught Offside.
“I said last week play Sturridge or sell him, and that opinion hasn’t changed”.
“But I can only pick 11 players for the start”.
By comparison, Klopp felt like his ‘keeper only had to make “one good save” on this occasion – although he called it “a brilliant save” to deny Alderweireld – and said Liverpool were “more in the game” overall.
A screenshot of the former Manchester City and Chelsea player’s expression was shared widely on social media after the game, as questions over Sturridge’s future abounded. “He did not have a ideal pre-season, that’s how it is”, he said.
Though the season is only three games old, this set the record for the most distance covered by a single player in the Premier League in 2016/17. They had chances to win the match but we played much better.
“Nobody has real rhythm”.
“There’s no big mountain for him. We showed again that we can be really good and that’s what we have to show in each game and then everything will be good”.
Sturridge might find it useful to compare his approach and medal collection with that of James Milner.
Asked about the comments by Souness, Klopp said: “Actually, why should I think about something like this?”
“We’re going to need more players for different positions”.
Another boon from the match at White Hart Lane was that Joël Matip hinted that another problem role for Liverpool could be secured while its definition is expanded.
Even without TV money, Premier League clubs have been ahead of everyone in Europe except for a number of elite or super rich clubs, that didn’t represent the spending power of their league.
