Jurgen Klopp Reveals Liverpool’s January Transfer Window Plans

Meanwhile, Jordan Henderson, who was an unused substitute for the defeat to Newcastle, returns to Klopp’s first team for the first time since recovering from injury.

The Reds are once again without the injury-plagued Daniel Sturridge after he was ruled out for a number of weeks by a hamstring problem sustained last weekend, while fellow frontman Danny Ings (knee) is sidelined for the rest of the season.

However, Klopp told a news conference ahead of his team’s home Premier League clash with West Bromwich Albion that he was happy with the attacking players at his disposal and was prepared to be patient with them.

He said: “Mama has trained now”.

“He trained first session with the team yesterday”, he explained, as reported by Goal.com’s Melissa Reddy. We have 24 hours always at work.

But Klopp still featured many of his first-choice players rather than rotating when all they needed was a point to ensure top spot.

“For me I just think about the moment”, says Coutinho.

And the German said: “I’m looking forward to the draw now and we’ll see what happens. All we can do is to train and give him more resistance with the intensity of football”.

“Jordon [Ibe] feels than better than he did three days ago”.

Asked about the upcoming January transfer window, Klopp added: “If we need something we will do it, not talk about it before”.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed that making transfers over the winter transfer is not a priority. Although Liverpool held Smith’s registration after his contract expired last summer, Klopp said it was a bonus to him when he realised the Australian global was still on the club’s books and he was eligible to rejoin the squad having signed a new deal.

“You have to ignore it, try to take it and use it and the only thing that helps in a situation like this is concentration: if you are really ready and prepared and concentrated then usually nothing happens”. It is very important to give him a better base than he had before.

The freezing pitch also made life hard for both sets of players as Divock Origi’s right-foot effort from the edge of the area, which dropped just wide of the far post on 19 minutes, one of only a few bright moments.
