Just a kid from Akron, LeBron James honored in hometown
He, of course, already took home a different kind of gold after the Cavs’ recent momentous, Game of Thrones-interrupting NBA Finals victory over the Golden State Warriors, after which he was also named Finals MVP.

“I could use the rest”, James told the website.
There will always be people who believe LeBron James is really the coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, no matter how many times LeBron says otherwise.
James is the USA team’s all-time scoring leader with 273 points and second in career rebounds with 95. He has performed hard for his team and played more minutes than any other player in the whole contest.
He led the Cleveland Cavaliers to the National Basketball Association title this week, his sixth straight appearance in the finals. Guest speakers included officials from the city of Akron, LeBron’s high school coach from St Vincent-St Mary, key figures with the LeBron James Family Foundation, Wheels for Education, the IPromise Network and of course, the king himself.
“This was a very hard decision”.
Other players who have committed to playing include Oklahoma City forward Kevin Durant, Indiana forward Paul George, Sacramento center DeMarcus Cousins and two Golden State Warriors – forward Draymond Green and guard Klay Thompson.

Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook, James Harden and Chris Paul are some of the National Basketball Association players that have opted out of the Olympics. The Americans are also holding a spot for Kyrie Irving, James’ Cavaliers teammate.
