Ro James will also perform on the tour.
The duo will take the CenturyLink Center stage on December 11.
Maxwell released his first album in six years, “blackSUMMERS’night”, in July.
Produced by Live Nation, the 24-show run of dates is on the heels of a dozen European shows in October.
Tickets will go on sale at 11 a.m. September 16 at Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com, livenation.com, 800-745-3000 and at the box office.
Blige’s most recent album, “The London Sessions” – which she made with a host of young British artists, including Sam Smith and Disclosure – was released in 2014. “I can;t wait to get on the road with her”. It’s the second installment of his Grammy-winning and critically acclaimed musical trilogy, and Pitchfork calls it “exquisite and transcendental.[his] most cohesive effort”.
“Maxwell is a man that we need as women”, Blige said of her tour partner.

“His music makes them feel loved and I’m excited to get on the road with him”, she said. A portion of the proceeds from each ticket sale will go to Artists for Peace and Justice, a nonprofit that funds programs in education, healthcare and dignity in Haiti.
