Justin Bieber backs NHS choir for Christmas number one
And it looks as though the NHS Choir have a good chance of snatching the victory from Justin Bieber in the nail-biting battle.

He is facing fierce competition from the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir with their song A Bridge Over You, which is raising money for health charities across the country and has been trailing slightly behind Love Yourself.
Pop star Justin Bieber has backed the NHS Choir to secure the coveted UK Christmas number one slot – even though it’ll mean he misses out.
If they continue at the rate of increase though, they should be able to grab the Christmas number 1, if they slow down, this could go to Justin (though him himself has tweeted his support to the NHS band). “It’s Christmas. @Choir_NHS good luck http://www.nhsno1.com/download”. You can download the song with a percentage also being distributed to Samh (Scotland) and Niamh (Northern Ireland).
The outcome is likely to be close but one thing that appears certain is that we won’t have an X Factor victor in the top spot this year. It’s a charity single by an NHS Trust choir.
This is the closest Christmas Number One race since 2009, when Rage Against The Machine’s single Killing In The Name was pitted against The X Factor victor Joe McElderry’s The Climb.
But since then, the choir – which is made up entirely of NHS nurses, doctors, physios, midwives, porters, administrators and more – has gone from strength to strength.
Bieber tweeted “I’m hearing the UK Christmas race is close, but the [NHS choir] single if for charity, so for one week it’s ok not to be number one”.

The votes will be counted until midnight on Christmas Eve with the results being announced at 1pm on Christmas Day.
