The race for this year’s Official Christmas No. 1 is the closest in years, with just 662 combined sales separating Justin Bieber and the NHS Choir.

The telly star was discussing the chart battle for Christmas number one after Bieber encouraged fans to support the singing group who are now just a handful of sales behind him in the race.
The choir’s single is a mash up between Coldplay’s Fix You and Simon and Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water. Let’s do the right thing & help them win.
The NHS Choir’s single is being released in support of the hard work done by doctors, nurses, midwives and others and proceeds are going to a charities including Carers UK and Mind. Wherever You Are by Military Wives topped the Official Christmas Chart back in 2011.
HEALTH workers hoping to bag the Christmas number one slot were handed a major boost yesterday when main rival Justin Bieber urged people to buy their record instead of his.
Stormzy’s single Shut Up is also gaining traction after the grime artist – real name Michael Omari – launched a Twitter campaign to take his song to the top. “Put the NHS number in the charts (sic), and also number one on the agenda”.
The choir was launched in 2013 when it narrowly missed out on the Christmas number one.
For only the fourth time in United Kingdom chart history, this year’s Christmas number one will be announced on Christmas day itself, with BBC Radio 1 counting down the festive chart within a special Christmas show from 10am to 1pm.
The Canadian pop star has just a narrow lead over the NHS Choir’s charity single with two days to go.
