Old listening records have been going down left and right this year.
Coming in at #2 was One Direction with Made In the A.M. The British boy band still made a decent finish with 402,000 copies sold within the first week.
Finally, Years And Years” Eyes Shut leaps 12 places to Number 28, and Walk the Moon rebound 11 spots to 37 with Shut Up & Dance following Reggie “n’ Bollie’s rendition of the track on last week’s X Factor. One Direction won Artist of the Year at the AMAs, as well as Favorite Duo or Group – Pop/Rock.
Yes, the same Nirvana who struck it big long before Bieber was born and whose lead singer, Kurt Cobain, committed suicide just one month after Bieber entered the world. However, JB’s album reigned- this is the 6th no. 1 album and fifth No. 1 debut.
The singer’s new album objective, which includes such hits as What Do You Mean? and Sorry, clocked 205 million streams globally on Spotify, and 77 million in the USA alone for the first week of its release. Logic’s The Incredible True Story came in at #3 with 135,000 units (118,000 in album sales) and Jeezy started at #4 with his LP Church In These Streets (107,000 EAUs and 98,000 in album sales).
While Bieber has been on cloud nine in the last week, he is expected to fall back as Adele releases her ultimate album today, November 22.
