Justin Rose makes hole-in-one as Olympic golf tournament begins
That’s not different. Pieters, from Belgium, has been playing well for most of the year.

Rose, 36, eventually lifted his arms skyward and smiled, after he realized his 189-yard tee shot had lipped into the fourth hole of the Olympic Golf Course.
“It’s the end of a long journey – or the beginning of a new one”, said Peter Dawson, the president of the International Golf Federation who stood proudly on the first tee.
“I give my caddie credit for that one. Whether I’m back in the pack or whether I’m fighting out for a medal, I’ll be giving it everything I possibly have and laying it all on the line”.
Golf is back in the Olympics for the first time in 112 years, having last been played back in 1904 when St. Louis, Missouri hosted the Summer Games.
“We have had two pretty stale days but a nice finish [on day two] to not be a million miles back”, he said. “Still lower numbers of crowds than we are used to, but a lot more of an energetic and passionate crowd and definitely more patriotic”.
“Even being out here if you’re not a golfer you can tell just the views out here are incredible”, Mossy Oaks Sales and Marketing Manager Gary Billington said. Pieters, 24, who played college golf at the University of IL, has two European titles. And golf, at the highest level, is printing cash.
“From that point of view they are missing out on a great competition”.
Details for Round 3 of the 2016 Rio Olympics Men’s Golf competition on Saturday are below.
Television cameras were focused on a ruling taking place in a bunker on the third hole at the Olympic Golf Course when Stenson, seemingly miles from the cup, rolled in his putt for an unlikely par. There is more sand on the course than is usual to challenge the golfers.
Fraser was the surprise leader after Round 1, and he maintained a slender advantage over Pieters with a birdie on 18 to get to 10 under. I wish we had (Jordan) Spieth, (Jason) Day, and Dustin Johnson.
Marcus Fraser made Olympic golf look like child’s play after dominating round one of the Men’s Individual Stroke Play event in Rio.
Open champion Henrik Stenson now occupies the bronze medal position, two shots behind Fraser, after shooting a three-under 68.
“I want to smile all the time”, Watson said.
Those two major champions were locks to represent Australia in the Olympics. “He had been texting and communicating with Ricky throughout the week and they are friends”, said Rose.
Stenson, 40, is bidding to win Olympic gold a month after capturing the Claret Jug at Royal Troon. Aphibarnrat is one of Thailand’s most recognizable Olympic athletes and will gain more popularity with an exceptional weekend. “This week, you have 60 guys playing, and we are all winners”. “They know it’s a special event, but for other reasons, they decided not to”.

Biggest disappointment: The United States’ Rickie Fowler had been enjoying himself in Rio, right up until the first hole Thursday.
