Actor Justin Theroux had a sudden brush with death, when he nearly drowned while scubadiving during his honeymoon in Bora Bora with Jennifer Aniston.

The 44-year-old The Leftovers star, whotied the knot with Aniston in August, revealed his near death experience on Live with Kelly and Michael show, reported People magazine. The problem arose when he and his friends were diving, accompanied by a different instructor who apparently spoke French, but very little English.

Justin Theroux has only been on Instagram for two days but it looks the actor and screenwriter, now Mr. Jennifer Aniston, is already getting into the swing of things, sharing an old high school pic for throwback Thursday.

However, when he went to the instructor for the second time, the instructor understood the seriousness of the situation and took him out of the water.

Because of the lack of communication, they ended up diving down significantly deeper than Theroux had dived during his training and he suddenly became alarmed as he noticed his oxygen tank was running low.

Theroux said that when he told the instructor what was happening, the instructor reached for his oxygen mask, but that only frightened him.

Continuing to see that he was “really deep in the red”, Theroux motioned again to his instructor that he wanted to go up. “So now I’m also linked to this jerk because now I have to swim alongside him and finally he rolls his eyes and we go up”.

“We could not talk”, Theroux said.

Theroux said he started to think that someone was out to get him. Watch the interview with Theroux in the video included below. “Why are we doing an emergency when earth is up there?”, he questioned.

‘Your brain goes into a insane place, ‘ he said, adding that he thought, ‘Oh my God, this is some plot to kill me’.

“[The guide] says, ‘Keep swimming, keep swimming.’ I’m like, alright, and I’m trying to enjoy the manta rays and all this – but I’m distracted because I want some oxygen!”
