She’s one of the hot new faces of her generation, so it’s no surprise Daisy Ridley bagged herself a top prize at the 2016 Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday evening.

While plenty felt the tribute was sorely needed, commenters pointed out that it was missing some notable people – including singer Christina Grimmie.
“It keeps happening, and it has to stop”, Alba said.
The actress was joined on stage at the fan-favorite ceremony by a group of teens related to shooting victims in such places as San Bernardino, California; Newtown, Connecticut; and Orlando, Florida. “I love doing the show and thank you very much for being interested, but it’s heartbreaking”.
“Tonight, we stand united in our call for peace”, Alba said.

Ne-Yo also paid tribute to the victims of gun violence after Alba’s speech with a rendition of Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On”. “We feel we have to better”.
Grimmie was posthumously crowned the victor of the Choice web star: Music award but there was no mention of her win during the televised broadcast. Fox said more than 37 million votes were cast online for this year’s award winners.
Selena Gomez won Choice Female Artist, Choice Summer Music Star: Female and Choice Instagrammer but was unable to attend the show.
Fans took to Twitter to express their outrage that Grimmie’s name was used to promote the event while any mention of the singer was absent from the event itself.
While it’s an honor to win, many pointed out that FOX didn’t mention Grimmie’s name once during the ceremony, even when an entire segment of the award show was dedicated to ending gun violence.

Fans are venting their rage on social media, decrying the awards for not showing Grimmie the respect she deserved. The source adds, “The fans have a right to be upset”.
