World No 1 Lydia Ko had her best round of the championship with a three-under-par 69, although a double-bogey at the 18th rather spoiled her otherwise flawless card.
“Everything was OK. Just OK, not flawless”, Lee said. “I had issues with my tee shot”. Earlier this season, she shot an opening-round 64 in the U.S. Women’s Open before finishing in a tie for 11th place. The two-time LPGA Tour victor missed the cut in the ANA Inspiration to start the major year, and tied for fourth in the KPMG Women’s PGA.

Jutanugarn realised after her first practice round on the Marquess course that she would not require her driver for this event.

Just as was the case when the third round got underway, however, only three players are ahead of Matthew as the final round gets underway, so for all that the deficit is six shots she knows that things can turn around again.
