Juventus reject monstrous Manchester United offer for Pogba

The fact that they’re preparing to stump up such a huge amount for a player that left them for nothing only four years ago has already amused many rival fans, but at least United supporters can point to this.

Juventus director general Beppe Marotta has denied that Paul Pogba is close to sealing a transfer to Manchester United.

United launched an £85m bid for the France global yesterday but Sky Sports Italia claim Juve will only sanction a deal for a word-record fee worth £100m plus bonuses.

He is set to make a seven-figure sum, and Juventus want to make sure they receive all of the fee they accept from United, preferring the Red Devils pay Raiola directly.

Real Madrid new coach Zinedine Zidane admitted that Paul Pogba is a very good player but he will not be joining his squad next season despite rumors of a big money move from Juventus.

The United manager, José Mourinho, is desperate for the club to seal the deal to add to the summer signings of Ibrahimovic, Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly.

French daily L’Equipe report that two key agreements were made when representatives from the two sides met on Wednesday – Juventus agreeing in principle that Pogba be allowed to leave, and United coming to an agreement on a fee which could reach as high as €120m.

The United executive vice-chairman had originally been due to fly to China, according to The Times, but has pulled out to focus his attention on the Pogba transfer which appears to be nearing its conclusion with each passing day. “That’s all there is”.

Since joining Juventus, Pogba has gone on to win the Scudetto in each of his four seasons in Serie A, and has accumulated a total of 178 appearances.
