Still, that is not to say that some do not feel the film needed an opening crawl. That really would put the war in Star Wars.

“Passengers” and “Assassin’s Creed”, two high-profile live-action efforts that debuted this weekend, proved to be no match at the box office for “Rogue One”. Rogue One takes place after the Revenge of the Sith movie, but before the original Star Wars movie that started it all. I see one potential pitfall Lucasfilm could fall into, though with the continued trilogy route. “The movie gives that away, but I would rather have all the [references] be right”. Most blockbuster franchise movies contain these surprises and Star Wars is no exception.

As Oswalt said, Lucas’s big story move, which only ever worked in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, boils down to “Hey, you get to see (fill in the blank) as a little kid!” I’ve done concertos and symphonies and other things that are some good, some not so good.

If you didn’t like the removal of an opening crawl in Rogue One, you weren’t the only one who thought it was a bad idea.

Before Rogue One was in theaters, Disney held a huge press junket for the film in San Francisco. I found it the best way to promote it and to connect to the audience, and since then it’s been very helpful. In the finished film, we do hear mention of an old Jedi that has gone into hiding. As the first of the Star Wars anthology films, Rogue One proved that you do not need a Skywalker to tell a successful Star Wars story. It’s time to get that bounty hunter or Darth Vader movie (set in between Episode IV and V) – where we are rooting for the bad guy because there are worse bad guys out there. Director Gareth Edwards made the choice to leave it out even though those floating letters of the original Star Wars essentially led to Rogue One almost 40 years later.

“And Spencer is one of the nicest guys I’ve met, he took time to speak with all of us before, during and after the event”, he added.

Along with a representative of the Chris Cross Media, Zeroh surmised that Mustafar might once again be part of the next “Star Wars” film as Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) continues to emulate the villain.
