Well, there is no official confirmation regarding the same but if this happens to be, it would be interesting to see if Amitabh Bachchan gets that stylish antics and Rajinikanth flavor in the film or no.
As in Chennai and elsewhere, huge cut-outs, posters and banners sporting Rajini were cynosure of all eyes at all theatres and multiplexes.
The craze for megastar Rajinikanth’s KABALI is clearly everywhere.
In certain theatres, the demand is so high that 5am shows are being organised for the fans and even those tickets are gone.
Its performance stoked global ambitions for the Tamil-language film industry, nicknamed “Kollywood” after the Kodambakkam district of Chennai where many studios are based.
Rajinikanth’s “Kabali’s has just taken the entertainment world by storm, the film which released not on any holidays or vacations, has become one of the biggest festivals of the year, as Rajini fans are more than insane and are celebrating it as ‘Kabali Festival”.
But whoever had the ticket did not complain.
The film is directed by Pa Ranjith, known for his critically acclaimed “Attakathi”, a breezy portrayal of a semi-urban Casanova and “Madras” that had strong political undertones.
The “Neruppuda” song has already become a chartbuster.
“Kabali” also stars actors like Radhika Apte, Kishore, Dinesh, Dhansikaa, Kalaiarasan and Winston Chao. The full movie is said to have been uploaded on the internet under the title “Tamil Gun”. Kabali has apparently collected Rs 250 crore on its first day in India, shattering all records for any movie in India!
On July 14, he had moved the court seeking to prevent illegal downloads of “Kabali” through about 180 websites and “countless unknown sites”.
Tickets for Kabali, which stars Rajinikanth as an ageing gangster, sold out well before the release and were changing hands on the black market for up to Rs 5,000. It was released in over 300 screens across the Kerala. A group of Rajnikanth fans named the Maharashtra State Head Rajinikanth Fans Welfare Association in Matunga held a special prayer for Rajnikanth and Kabali at a temple in Matunga.
Rajan expects a minimum 50-day run for “Kabali” in Aurora Theatre since it’s being released simultaneously in so many screens, some with multiple shows, in different languages.
