‘Kabali’ earns Rs2,500 million in India on first day!

Of the over 10,000 screens that Kabali released worldwide, these earnings account for 1000 screens in north India.

A PTI report said that the film had also released in UK, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Denmark, Holland, Sweden, South Africa and Nigeria.

Directed by Ranjith Pa, the film features Radhika Apte as the female lead.

Despite drawing extraordinary attention from movie-goers during its opening on the silver screen, Tamil blockbuster Kabali is not without its own controversies.

The report stated the movie was trying to portray that the Indian community in Malaysia was undermined, based on the script of its actors including Rajinikanth.

Two-day collections of Kabali are expected to surpass Rs 100 crore, according to sources.

“It is god’s blessing that the film is doing so well”, he said.

“It has created history and an all time record all over the world”.

Now, dairy products cooperative Amul has tapped into Kabali mania and has come up with an innovative cartoon depicting Rajinikanth in hs suit-boot Kabali avatar sitting on a sofa with the Kuala Lampur skyline in the backdrop.

Talking about tackling piracy, Thanu says, “It is a menace done by some anti-social elements”. That’s literally the lifetime collection of any big banner film! Due to this, the makers of the film have made a decision to to give Bollywood the rights to make a full fledged Hindi remake of the film, that will apparently star Amitabh Bachchan. They share a great camaraderie and have huge respect for each other.

“I am collaborating with him again after 32 years”. The real challenge now lies for the film to grow from this point on and then stay consistent during the weekdays. There were all kinds of rumours but the film earned well.

In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the Telugu dubbed version was able to collect Rs.13.5 crore.
