Kabali mints over Rs 200 crore worldwide, Rajinikanth thanks fans

The star actor’s film Kabali which released on July 22 has turned out be a huge hit and is running successfully in the theatres.

Kabali has also overtaken Lingaa and Enthiran as the highest grossing Tamil movie over the weekend, breaking all Tamil box office records. The film has raked in a whopping 53 crores, and has become the highest grossing film of the year in India and overseas. “As on Tuesday, “Kabali” has grossed Rs 205 crore and this includes the three languages in which the film was released”, trade analyst Trinath told IANS.

Rajinikanth has taken box office by storm as Kabali.

One the other hand, having already made over Rupees 100 crores through the south region, the film also dominated the North Indian markets. This year, his Sultan released just weeks ahead of Rajinikanth’s magnum opus Kabali.

Rajinikanth’s starrer Kabali has been on a record-breaking streak. Even Rajinikanth didn’t expect such record openings.

Kabali reportedly earned Rs 48.95 crore on the day of release in India, beating Salman Khan’s “Sultan” by a considerable margin. In Nellore, 3rd day collection is 11.3 lakh and for the total 3 days, it collected 59.5 crores.

“Kabali” was distributed via CineGalaxy Inc in North America, which includes the USA and Canada. The movie starring Rajinikanth, Radhika Apte, Dhansika, Dinesh Ravi, Winston Chao, Kalaiyarasan and Nassar.

News reports that circulated on Saturday of the Rajinikanth-starrer having minted Rs.250 crore from almost 10,000 screens across the globe were denied by trade analysts who said the figures were speculative.
