Kabul denies of involvement in Pakistan attack

Pakistan on Monday chose to go soft on Afghanistan and avoid lodging a strong protest over the Badhaber attack on a Pakistan Air Force base, officials said. He also appeared in a video along with a group of gunmen who, he said, were sent to launch the attack. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) registered an FIR under terrorism charges on the complaint of the Badhaber camp commandant.

In response to a query as to when the evidence is expected to be provided to the Afghan authorities, the adviser said the relevant officials are gathering all evidence and Afghanistan will be informed after the work here is done.

All 13 attackers were killed by the security forces in retaliation.

Acting Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Rashid Kamal on Sunday visited Peshawar Combined Military Hospital and inquired about the health and well being of the injured personnel of Badhaber terrorist attack.

Atleast 27 suspects including Afghan refugees were arrested from Ashab Baba area in a joint search operation of security forces and police. He appreciated their bravery and determination for valiantly fighting against the terrorists during the dastardly terrorist attack. Afghanistan in particular accuses Pakistan of supporting Afghan Taliban insurgents, while Pakistan has been demanding Afghanistan hand over hardline cleric Fazlullah, head of the TTP who is believed to be hiding in eastern Afghanistan.

It is the second major attacked for which Afghanistan was blamed after deadly Peshawar school attack in December, resulting in killing of 150 people, mostly students. Other servicemen were killed during clashes with the attackers.
