Kaepernicks Ex-Coach: I Don’t Respect His Protest

MI coach Jim Harbaugh did not hold back when asked about Kaepernick refusing to stand for the national anthem, and he is not taking his former quarterback’s side. Harbaugh, who coached Kaepernick when he was coaching in San Francisco, initially took exception.

While Kaepernick probably should have chosen a better way to protest something that is near and dear to the hearts of many, perhaps sitting out the national anthem was the only way that his voice would get heard.

Kaepernick has indicated he’ll continue to sit during the national anthem until he sees progress in race relations.

Harbaugh said that while he respected Kaepernick’s right to sit during the national anthem, he doesn’t respect his motivation nor his actions. “But I don’t respect the motivation or the action”.

Moments after leaving the podium he clarified part of the aforementioned comment on Twitter. Kaepernik declined to stand in protest of the treatment of African-Americans in the United States. Harbaugh said, “I apologize for misspeaking my true sentiments”.

“People don’t realize what’s really going on in this country”, Kaepernick said. People aren’t being held accountable for.

As Harbaugh, he is getting ready for the Wolverines’ season opener at home this Saturday against Hawaii.
