Kaine on Clinton’s Emails: ‘We’re Going to Be Real Transparent’
During an appearance before black and Hispanic journalists, Clinton answered a question about remarks that she had made about the FBI’s statements on her controversial email set-up as secretary of state – statements that earned Four Pinocchios and and a Recidivism Watch.

Hillary Clinton attempted to clarify Friday recent misleading statements about her use of a private email server at the State Department, saying she “may have short-circuited” her answers about it.
Rep. Xavier Becerra (D-CA) took apart Fox News for editing video and leaving out key comments while trying to smear Hillary Clinton during an interview on Fox News Sunday. She seemed to admit a mistake.
Clinton reiterated her earlier explanation that the classified emails the Federal Bureau of Investigation had identified as having passed over her private server were not marked classified at the time. “That’s really the bottom line here”, Clinton said at a press availability Friday.
Hillary Clinton might think twice before she appears on Fox News anytime soon.
While Clinton maintains a healthy lead over Republican Donald Trump as the November election draws nearer, her biggest weakness remains the lack of trust which voters have in her.
And now, the latest installment in our Candidates in Context series, where we go behind the headlines to explain what’s happening and why.
Chuck Todd confronted him on Meet the Press over Clinton’s muddled answer on her emails and whether she was 100 percent truthful to the American public.
This is a better performance for Hilary Clinton who had lower trustworthiness numbers earlier this year.
TIM KAINE: Chuck, let me just say this.
Before taking questions, Clinton delivered a 15-minute address focused mostly on how her plans to improve the economy would especially benefit blacks and Latinos. But Clinton has taken lying to a whole new level. Trump has further attacked her mental capacity, declaring, “I think the people of this country don’t want somebody that’s going to short-circuit up here”.
By appearing to stretch the truth, at best, Mrs. Clinton also is fueling the notion that the Justice Department may have decided not to press charges against her exclusively for political reasons. Even though Wallace was clearly asking Clinton whether she had been truthful with the American public, she chose to answer a different question: whether she had lied in her interview with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
LISA DESJARDINS: In other words, Clinton’s statements that nothing on her server was marked classified were wrong, which brings us to another thing about today’s comments, what we know about the e-mails.
Clinton’s comments came hours after the US government announced that the economy added 255,000 jobs in July – surpassing economists’ expectations – while the unemployment rate stayed at 4.9%.
That’s the same sort of non-admission she made when it was pointed out that her claim of having landed in Bosnia under sniper fire in 1996 was also a bald-faced lie.

“The economy the media and the Clinton Machine is describing is an economy that doesn’t exist for most Americans”, Trump said.
