The briefings have been customary for presidential nominees so the next commander in chief has an understanding of the country’s national security apparatus.
Representatives from the Trump campaign and state GOP did not immediately return emails and phone calls seeking clarification on the event.
“I have a sense that a part of my role will be helping to take the vision of a President Trump and help translate that into policies on Capitol Hill”, Pence said. “She’s totally bigoted, there’s no question about that”.
Trump pressed on with trying to broaden his appeal to minority voters on Friday, as he met with Hispanic business leaders at his signature hotel in Las Vegas. The VP nominee’s Florida trip was meant to promote Clinton’s economic agenda – specifically a recently unveiled plan for small businesses.
“If we don’t enforce visa expiration dates, then we have an open border – it’s as simple as that”, he said.
Kaine told a crowd of supporters, “Now we can really spend a lot of time here”.
Trump has suggested that minorities have been left behind by Democratic economic policies and hammered the nation’s sluggish GDP growth as “a catastrophe”.
