Kam Chancellor returns to Seahawks, will play Sunday
Chancellor’s return gives Seattle’s defense a totally different look, and one can only assume it will energize the team as a whole. “God forgives all, why can’t i?”

The big question now is whether Chancellor feels his financial outlook will get healthier, too.
“Those things I would rather deal with at the end of the season”, Chancellor said. “I’ve always been a guy who followed my heart, and just watching my teammates and my team play week to week, first and second game, you know watching those losses it hurt me being the leader that I am”.
The Seahawks refused to budge on restructuring a contract that had three years remaining, believing it would lead to a stream of players seeking new deals in the early stages of their contracts.
Chancellor signed a four-year contract worth slightly more than $28 million. Despite that, Chancellor’s holdout has already cost him over $2.1 million in earnings.

After giving up 34 points to St Louis in the season opener, Seattle’s much-vaunted defense was torched for 27 by Green Bay on Sunday as the Seahawks continue to struggle without Pro Bowl safety Kam Chancellor.
The Seahawks are two games out of first place (0-2) in the NFC West behind undefeated Arizona. It is reported that his agent is working to get the fines reduced. Because he hasn’t played in so long, he is more susceptible to muscle strains and tears to go along with his overall conditioning. If the two sides are able to come to an understanding, Chancellor should be in the starting lineup for the team’s Week 3 matchup against the Chicago Bears. Dion Bailey started the first game at strong safety before being replaced by DeShawn Shead in Week 2.
Chancellor said the team welcomed him back to the locker room with open arms.

Chancellor’s annual average salary from 2013-2017 amounts to about $7 million (AU$10 million) per year, which is among the top 10 highest-paid for the safety position.
