Talking about the September 8 PS-127 by-poll’s result, he said that Malir proved that the MQM had lost its mandate in the constituency.

Kamal said MQM’s vote count stood 60,000 in 2013 general elections in the same constituency that had now been reduced to 15,000 in the fresh by-polls.

Chairman Mustafa Kamal said people of Karachi gave out their decision against Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) founder and Farooq Sattar as Thursday’s by-election in Karachi clearly indicated that MQM’s mandate has been spurned. “And we very well know how half of the votes were cast”, he alleged.

He went on to say, “This decline in MQM vote bank has proved our stance about the MQM chief and the fact is that [the party] was lying to its people for the last 30 years”.

“Farooq Sattar should not be telling lies, and he must repent” Kamal added.

He said MQM leaders must tell voters they had no links with Altaf Hussain.
