Kamal takes on the director’s mantle

According to an update, director Rajeev has fallen ill and the doctors have advised him a few weeks rest to recover. We also think that this arrangement will be temporary and once Rajeev recovers, Kamal will relinquish the direction to him once again.

The actor-filmmaker said Rajeev is getting the best possible medical care in LA. He has previously helmed films like “Hey Ram”, “Chachi 420” and “Vishwaroopam“. In fact, the character Haasan plays in Sabash Naidu is from Dashavtharam, the film that the actor-director directed in 2008. Hence Kamal has taken the tough decision of replacing his good friend with himself as the team cannot afford to wait for Rajeev’s recovery.

On Friday, when Kamal tweeted that he is directing a song in the film, rumours started spreading that he is ghost-directing the project. The film’s shooting took off in Los Angeles, USA last week. I am sure when he is up and about he will have many more films to direct. He has already done 25 films in his career. The film is being made in Tamil-Telugu as Sabash Naidu and in Hindi as Shabash Kundu. “He will do 25 more and I’ll be in at least 10 of them”.

In Sabash Naidu, Kamal Haasan will be seen as a RAW officer and Shruti Haasan plays his daughter.

She essays Kamal’s character’s daughter in the film, and dons an extremely smart and stylish avatar.

Says a source insider, “A true blue fan girl, Shruti has been very excited about working on this film being one of her dad’s biggest admirers”. The music of the film is being composed by Ilayaraja. The film that went on floors recently, had Kamal post a picture of the first day of filming on his Twitter handle.

Huge setback for Kamal Haasan’s next
