Kane resigns; first deputy AG to assume duties
Given the verdict, I believe the Attorney General should resign.

Kane’s conviction and subsequent resignation represents a dramatic turn of fortune for the 50-year-old former county prosecutor who was the first woman and first Democrat elected as attorney general in Pennsylvania.
A spokesman would say only that Kane was “spending time today conferring with senior staff”. “Attorney General Kane has been convicted of serious charges”. Scranton is also Biden’s hometown. Castor added whoever becomes the next AG, however, has a lot to overcome, including an incredible learning curve and restoring public faith in the office. The Democrat was convicted on 9 counts of leaking grand jury information to a reporter to embarrass rival prosecutor Frank Fina. Kane was accused of subsequently lying about the leak to an investigating grand jury. I took this position last August, when she was charged with crimes that go to the very heart of the fair and impartial administration of justice. Shortly after Kane took office in 2013, she chose to shut down an undercover corruption investigation against four Democratic Philadelphia-area state lawmakers and a traffic court judge who were caught accepting cash and gifts from a lobbyist. To muddy the waters further, the investigation Kane reportedly shut down was a deep look into corruption among Democratic state representatives. Instead, her defense attorney tried to disparage her former allies after they testified against her.
The judge has released Kane on bail after requiring her to forfeit her passport to prevent her from leaving the country. “Wars have casualties. Wars leave scars”.
In a muted but real-life Game of Thrones, Kane couldn’t walk away from her war unscathed.
King, a former law school boyfriend who later became one of her top aides, testified that he had agreed to pass a manila envelope from Kane’s office in Harrisburg to Morrow’s home in Philadelphia.
Costopoulos clashed with Kane previous year in the email controversy surrounding former Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice J. Michael Eakin. “I guess I was just trying to protect Kathleen”. “398 pages, much of it hard-core porn”, Kane once told ABC’s Nightline. Of course, it isn’t fiction – this is Pennsylvania attorney general Kathleen Kane’s story.
In February, Kane, wracked with a suspended law license and criminal charges, announced she would not run for reelection. “We are not the Department of Justice”.
Her political consultant described being taken by her security agents to a Philadelphia parking garage to be frisked for a wire – and stripped of his wallet, cellphone and keys – all so he could have lunch with Kane at a hotel. Nevertheless, Kane used it herself to send emails that included confidential information.
We’ve collected the reactions of various officials and candidates to the guilty verdict in the Kathleen Kane case. Neither Kane’s legal troubles nor Kane’s email scandal ended up harming Clinton in the primary election, though.
Kane hired him earlier this year as her office’s solicitor general, giving him broad powers.
Perjury – the only felony charge – can bring up to seven years in prison.

But in February, a judge in the Cosby case rejected Castor’s claim.
