Kane: Spurs face tough Leicester test

Spurs have been linked with a move for West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino, according to the Mirror, but the Baggies have rejected the club’s initial offer.

Leicester’s striking form since April has seen them take 28 points in the league – more than any other team in the division – but the Foxes still remain susceptible in the defensive third.

“No worries about that and the people won’t worry about the team because we have a lot of good players that can play like a striker”. “We identify our targets and the chairman (Daniel Levy) is working very hard to bring new players in this position, but I am happy with my squad”, said the Spurs boss, in quotes published by the Irish Independent.

While not being drawn on any specific targets, Pochettino accepted it would be foolish for Spurs not to have more than one iron in the fire.

“It’s obvious we need one more offensive player”.

Harry Kane, who netted 31 goals in all competitions last season, is Tottenham’s preferred choice in attack as Emmanuel Adebayor has fallen out of favour while Roberto Soldado was sold to Spanish side Villarreal.

However, Pochettino isn’t anxious about their early season performance with the Argentine saying that they should assess their position after “10 games”.

“I promise you: if we want to bring a player they want to come, but we need to bring the right profile for us”.

England forward Kane faces a fight of his own to play after sustaining a calf injury which forced him off in the 2-2 draw with Stoke City last time out.

One of the main criticisms of Tottenham Hotspur is their poor player recruitment, there’s no question that Spurs have always had top class players, the likes of David GInola, Jimmy Greaves and Paul Gascoigne to name a few.

“He is fast, technical, his condition is high”.

“Obviously, I scored once away and got a hat-trick at home last season so hopefully I can continue that form against them”.
