Kane won’t take corners again after Allardyce joke
Harry Kane started as the lone striker ahead of Daniel Sturridge and Jamie Vardy, although he hadn’t scored a goal since May.

Asked whether he expected to be taking corners for Allardyce’s new-look side, Kane said: “Probably not”. I’m also clear on where I am and I know how far I’ve come since I left Middlesbrough [in 2009]. “Hopefully I can score at the weekend, but if not we will see what happens”.
“It has (become a talking point) now, on social media”.
The England global was one of the Premier League’s top performers last season and won the golden boot in the English top flight following his impressive displays.
“Sometimes you’ve just got to stick at it until the last minute and, thankfully, we got the goal”. Of course, it was a disappointing moment in the summer but it’s football.
Captain Wayne Rooney has said the reaction to his deeper role in the England team has been blown out of proportion after Sunday’s 1-0 World Cup qualifying win over Slovakia.
England dominated the game throughout but didn’t find a victor until the fifth minute of added time through Adam Lallana’s first goal at senior worldwide level.
However, Kane is sure he will be back among the goals soon, adding: “I managed to prove a lot of people wrong, so people will talk this year as well”. It’s what they’re doing now. I am a confident player. I’m captain of the team and I feel I can do a very good job in the role.
“I think I didn’t score in my first seven or eight games and then to go on and win the Golden Boot proves that it was just a matter of time”.
“I must admit, he did play a little deeper than I thought he’d play today, but I was pleased with his performance”. We are trying to fit him in, but he’s not a midfield player for me. “I’m pretty clear on what I’m comfortable with but also I know to take that role wasn’t something I think I’ve got the experience for”, he said.

“I think that he holds a lot more experience at worldwide football than me as an global manager”.
