Kang flirts with 59 and doesn’t even know it
Roberto Castro handed in a 2-under-par 37-33=70 after the second round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am for a 36-hole aggregate of 8-under 136, three swings back of co-leaders Sung Kang and Hiroshi Iwata.

Phil Mickelson tosses his ball to the gallery after putting on the sixth green of the Monterey Peninsula Country Club Shore Course during the second round of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament Friday, Feb… Castro’s down one place on the live leaderboard to T7 after chasing bogey-free 6-under 66 on Pebble Beach Golf Links with today’s five-birdie against three-bogey tour of Spyglass Hill GC.
The four-time Pebble Beach champion jumped out to a blistering start, shooting a 5-under 29 on the front nine and got to 7 under on the day with an eagle on No. 10.
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (AP) – Chez Reavie enjoyed the pure weather nearly as much as watching putts go in.
Some of the biggest stars had to settle for simply enjoying the sunshine.
Jason Day was not fantastic early, going out one over at Spyglass after starting on the back nine, but he carded two inward birdies to finish one under.
Spieth’s one-under-par 71 at Spyglass was better than the course average of 71.886, but still left him seven strokes behind Chez Reavie.
World no. 7 Justin Rose shot a 66 at Spyglass Hill and is tied for fifth, just two shots off the lead.
“A bit weak”, Spieth said of his up-and-down round. “I just couldn’t get it in the hole”, added Spieth, who said he hoped for better success on firmer greens at Pebble Beach on Saturday.
Ruffels, taking on the tough Spyglass Hill layout shot a two-under 70 that was anything but consistent. “But all in all, to actually shoot 1 under with what I felt like I should have shot today is promising, considering we’re going to the two easier courses in my mind”.
Except they weren’t calling for him, and he knew it.
England’s Justin Rose was among seven players at six under. Day matched Spieth’s 1-under 71, while Reed shot 72. “If I had a solid day with my short game and wedges, it probably would have been 6- or 7-under”. He chose to adjust his driver because he wanted more spin than he was getting in Phoenix last week.
“Well, like an idiot I switched drivers and I hit a few shots that I haven’t hit”, Mickelson said.

“A fellow caddie hooked me up, Steve Hoch is his name”, Cowan said. I had three (birdie) chances on par-fives greenside, just little chip shots, basic shots, and I made par as well as bogeying that 115-yard par-three.
