Kangaroo hops through Windows
“Consumers own many different devices including tablets, laptops and desktop PCs”, said Lawrence Yen, director of Kangaroo product marketing. “Unlike stick PCs and other pocket PCs, Kangaroo works with all of your existing devices and can be docked at home or tossed in your bag to use anywhere, powering and providing Windows 10 access on the go”. InFocus, a company better known for its projectors, has announced the Kangaroo, which is a portable Windows 10 “desktop” PC.

Inside the Kangaroo is an Intel Atom x5-Z8500 System-on-Chip (SoC) based on Cherry Trail.
However if you still want a small and barely noticeable setup, then the Kangaroo by InFocus might be of interest to you. Though the claim may be little off, Kangaroo weighs just 200g and measures 124mm tall, 80.5mm wide and 12.9mm thick, comparatively the current lot of large screen phablets weigh more than it. It runs on 2GB of RAM and has 32GB of storage, expandable via a microSD card to 128GB, and an on-board battery which lasts upto 4 hours according to InFocus.
A lack of ports is the main caveat of PC-on-a-stick solutions, but Kangaroo comes with HDMI and two USB ports, plus promises of more add-ons in the future.

Kangaroo has Wi-Fi support though it does not have ethernet port, possibly to save space. There is also a free iOS software download that will allow users to connect to an iPad. And as an added bonus, the Kangaroo features a built-in fingerprint reader, which is compatible with Windows Hello biometric security. “Kangaroo is the first product to allow you to use the same PC for all applications, in any environment”. At $99 (USD), Kangaroo is a no-compromise PC at a no-pain price that makes Windows 10 accessible to anyone. The device will also be available in Microsoft’s physical retail stores starting in mid-November.
