Kanye West’s Surprise Performance Canceled After Fans Flood NYC Streets

But Kanye West, who was the headliner for the evening, refused to let anything rain on his parade, especially not on his 38th birthday.

NY mayor, Bill de Blasio, has since offered to help West plan a proper block party.

Andrew Goldstein, who lives across the street from Webster Hall, posted a video from the view outside his apartment.

As crowds formed and a line scrawled around the block, fans were shoved and pushed every time the venue would open to allow a few dozen people at a time inside.

A security guard at the venue told the New York Daily News that the “Father Stretch My Hands” rapper was “really close” to performing.

West and Kardashian are yet to respond publicly to de Blasio’s offer.

There were so many fans that a line-up of diehard Kanye West followers stretched more than two blocks from Webster Hall, according to fans and residents living near Webster Hall. (The official answer? A hard “No.”) Thousands of fans flocked to Webster Hall in the middle of the night, where KimYe later arrived in a vehicle.

We then saw a snapchat video of Kanye stood up through the sun roof of his auto greeting thousands of fans who quickly swarmed towards the vehicle that he was in. There was also heaps of trash left by the crowd. Miz Kardashian West later confirmed on her SC that it was the cops that forced her man to call off his gig. “We tried. He tried so hard, but it was just bigger”, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 35, said in a Snapchat video around 4 a.m. ET. The event, put on annually by NY radio station Hot 97, was set to feature performances from Pusha T and Big Sean with the help of Kanye’s G.O.O.D. “[Wife] Chirlane & I can throw one with you to benefit NYC kids”, de Blasio said, poking fun at West. Or was it an ambitious concert attempt from the twisted genius that is Kanye?
