West’s show has gotten more attention for its inconvenience, dullness and disorganization than for the fashion on display – though West hesitates to call his clothing fashion. “It’s just wonderful to still have a relationship with him and be a part of his inspiration”.

She shared her experience via Twitter, from learning that the setting was a former smallpox hospital to witnessing models faint from standing in the heat for too long. Many had to sit, and at least one apparently had to leave the show.
“The ten thousand people that showed up [to the casting] didn’t have a problem with it”, West said. They weren’t original or risky enough to be bad. The heel of another model’s shoe broke, causing her to wobble until Bruce Pask, the men’s fashion director at Bergdorf Goodman, stepped forward to help her.
“The Roosevelt Island show was something else entirely: an hours-long process that took us to a remote location, to witness what felt like a torture session for a bunch of civilian models, and a awful experience of feeling complicit in enabling the situation”.
