A controversial casting call for Kanye West’s next fashion show struck a sour note with some fans.
Some are interpreting that West is looking for light-skinned women and therefore unfairly will be excluding those with darker skin, while others are arguing the classification of “multiracial” applies to every person of color, regardless of the shade of their skin.
‘Hmm @ multiracial women only.
Several users commended West for requesting that woman arrive for the tryouts with “no makeup” – but a far greater number of commenters blasted West for his racial requirement. You are the absolute worst. You do have people who aren’t exactly multiracial with those aesthetics. Back in May, Nick Jonas found himself in hot water with Black Twitter when a casting call of his was posted on ActorsAccess.com and asked for “stunning female models” that looked like “the kind of girls Nick Jonas would have a crush on”, reports Seventeen.
September is officially here and with it Fashion Month.
It’s not the first time the “Famous” rapper has sparked controversy during the style-focused event.
In mid-August, details surfaced about Kanye’s Season 4 fashion show. On Saturday night, West brought his floating stage experience to Boston, where he gave another passionate monologue in between songs.

However, Kanye has faced severe backlash for his quest to only see mixed raced women.
