Kapil Sharma booked for illegal construction at Goregaon flat

“The Chief Minister, instead of setting up an enquiry by the Anti-Corruption Bureau, has conveniently put the onus of proof on Kapil Sharma”, Nirupam said in the letter.

When asked about the timing of the complaint, which directly coincides with Sharma’s allegations against a BMC official, a senior civic body official said, “The tweet has nothing to do with this complaint”.

In a letter to the governor, Nirupam said that the Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena are targeting Kapil about alleged illegal constructions at Kapil’s office and making all kinds of threats.

In more trouble for Kapil Sharma, who is in the eye of storm following his tweet to PM Modi over a purported bribe demand by a BMC official, Oshiwara Police has booked stand-Up comedian along with actor Irrfan Khan for illegal extension. “The administration and the police do not take any action because these are the houses of celebrities”. We will assist Sharma in taking action against the civic official.

According to Section 489 (1) of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, if an illegal structure is demolished, the person involved in the violation should pay for it.

“But in this case, it seems they have targeted Mr Kapil Sharma, a whistleblower, since he is an artiste and a soft target, with the sole intention of suppressing the bribery issue”.

K-west ward (Andheri, Juhu) – home to several celebrities and high-profile people – has topped the list with respect to the number of illegal constructions and structures. Recently, Fadnavis has regularised hundreds of illegal buildings in Maharashtra (Pune District) and so has no moral right to speak on the matter.

The Congress leader has requested the Governor to direct the CM to institute an inquiry by the ACB or a judicial probe into the charges of bribery and corruption to cleanse the BMC.

Earlier in the day, the Raj Thackeray-led MNS filed a complaint against the artist for not backing up his claims by naming the official. He demanded that the complaint be turned into an FIR and an investigation be ordered into the matter. However, the Shiv Sena had dared Kapil to name the bribe seeker.

In an apparent attempt to cap the controversy from escalating, the comedian-actor had said that he did not seek to blame any political party.
