Kareena plays the role of a doctor named Shivani Gupta who leaves the luxuries behind and moves to the heartland of Punjab to tackle the drug menace.

Kareena Kapoor Khan will be playing a doctor and her non-glam avatar has received a great response from her fans! “Meet Kareena in Udta Punjab!” the post read. After releasing Shahid Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh’s first look from the film, the makers have now releases Kareena’s first look.
The actress, who earlier used to feature in four-five movies every year, has slowed down her work and is seen doing one-two films per year, which she terms intentional. Dressed in a doctor’s attire, looking very simple and sober, Kareena’s character will be known as Dr. Preet Sahani in Udta Punjab.
In the character poster, we hear Kareena Kapoor Khan saying, “Jashanpura mei jo ho raha hai uska idea hai aapko?”

Talking about the film, it has been directed by Abhishek Chaubey and co-produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor Anurag Kashyap among others. The film is set to hit the screens on June 17 this year.
