Karen Gillan has said her revealing Jumanji outfit will make sense

Yesterday brought us our first look at the Jumanji sequel, courtesy of a snap tweeted by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

When Kevin Hart posted the first set photo from Jumanji, the biggest talking point turned out to be Karen Gillan’s costume, or a lack thereof. The first “Jumanji” movie that was launched in 1995 ended with the “Jumaji” game still existing, which concludes to a possible sequel in the future.

Gillan’s co-star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also defended her outfit and told fans the costumes will “make sense soon”. We had a awesome first day. Truuuuuust me. The journey continues. “Ruby Roundhouse” (Karen Gillan).

Between myself, @kevinhart4real Jack Black and @NickJonas we’ve searched far and wide to find the one person to complete our #JUMANJI family. Of course, Johnson, Hart and Black have equally ridiculous character names, Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Moose Finbar and Professor Shelly Oberon, respectively.

The theory is that she and Kevin Hart are possibly children who have been sucked into the world of Jumanji, and have been transformed into adult versions of themselves, thus the smallish clothes. Jack is brilliant, Karen is bad assery, Kevin is sharply hilarious and I smell good.

We must admit that when one gets lost in the jungle (the shooting started on Monday in Hawaii), mini skirt and crop top is not really the ideal outfit to fearless the intrusive vegetation or the wild animals.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, the ginger 28-year-old said: ‘Yes I’m wearing child sized clothes and YES there is a reason!

The film will also star Nick Jonas, in an as-yet-undisclosed role.

This explanation certainly sounds a lot better than when he announced Karen’s casting, saying they “needed a girl”.
