Karen Harding shocked by national anthem flub at FA Cup Final

She took to Twitter to explain there had been “technical difficulties”.

Well, the video above – which was recorded in her dressing room prior to kick-off – will very much prove that she can.

A 90,000-strong Wembley crowd stood for the traditional rendition of “God Save the Queen” but the 24-year-old failed to come in at right time, eventually joining in part-way through. “I don’t know what happened”.

And as one person pointed out, it may be that Karen had the last laugh: that instead of a totally forgettable rendition of a rather tiresome national anthem, did she purposefully make herself instantly and enormously famous by ****ing the whole thing right up…?

And the Say Something singer was quick to apologise afterwards, pointing out she had technical difficulties.

You’ve got to feel for her, because that’s never fun.

After the mishap, BBC commentator Guy Mowbray defended Harding, saying: “There’s a lot of noise around the place, it’s easy to miss your cue”.

Fans tweeted the singer, who a year ago scored a top 10 with dance track Say Something, to show their support.

Piers Morgan quipped: “Did Louis van Gaal advise that female singer for the anthem?”
