Karen O Pens Song For New ‘Tomb Raider’ Game

One of those releases is of course the sequel to the 2012 Tomb Raider reboot, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and to hype its looming release, we’ve received a launch trailer for the game.

“I think they wanted to bring on the melodrama with this song”, the singer explained in a new interview over at Yahoo! It was really juicy stuff for me. The three-minute video is a deep dive into Lara Croft’s next adventure, which cribs from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade with its paternal quest for immortality (and a watery escape is borrowed wholesale from Temple of Doom). I must also give a shout-out to the new Bloodborne DLC The Old Hunters, since that game has been clamoring for extra content since late March.

Speaking about the track, she said, “You know how Gloria Gaynor has her I Will Survive?” Not quite historically accurate, maybe, but I’ll take it. That was very appealing to me because I love making music connected to a storyline. Windows PC is expected to follow early in the new year, with PlayStation 4 users finally getting their hands on it around a full year after Xbox users.

With Rise of the Tomb Raider set to drop next Tuesday, Arekkz Gaming’s YouTube channel has made a decision to put together a video of roughly 30 minutes of gameplay so that fans can get a better idea of what can be expected before purchasing the title.
