Karma Adds $50 Unlimited Option
Up until now, the shareable hotspot company Karma has offered internet access one way: Pay as you go for $14 a gigabyte, with free data thrown in when others hop onto your Karma Go hotspot. However, that sharing is rewarded, as users on the Refuel plan are given 100MB of data every time someone else connects, and that idea is extended to Neverstop as well, with each person earning the owner $1 off their next bill.

The company says that it chose to release this additional option as it has seen users increasing their data usage over the years.
If you don’t need unlimited data all the time, you can also switch between Neverstop or Refuel (pay-as-you-go) month to month. FreedomPop offers a limited amount of free mobile data for its customers and a variety of paid options to add more data. So it’s unlimited data, but with a small catch.
Karma, by way of background, has been around for a few years now and is backed by $7.66 million in outside funding, according to CrunchBase. Since the beginning, they’ve taken a strong stance towards transparency, and against contracts and fine print. With Karma it has always been simple: buy the device, buy data that never expires, and get online.
Karma isn’t the only company with an unusual approach to the mobile hotspot space. “You decide if you want to pay as you go or pay monthly”.
In addition, you can switch in between the two plans at any time. “It really comes down to personal preference”. You are in full control of how you pay for data: one month you can pay as you go, and the next pay one price for all you can surf data. Not a bad deal if you’ve ever left Karma open in a busy airport. With both, Karma continues to encourage sharing your connection; Karma calls it “social bandwidth”.
You can also download the Karma iOS or Android app to reload your account on the go. Further, if you were to share your mobile hotspot’s access with other people, you’d get rewarded with even more data at no cost.
