“Boosting trust among Kashmiris, whether they belong to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir or India-occupied Kashmir, is possible only through dialogue”, he said.

However, India on Wednesday rejected Pakistan’s proposal to hold foreign secretary-level talks on Kashmir and insisted that discussions should be held on “aspects related to cross-border terrorism which are central to the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir”.
National Conference president Farooq Abdullah Friday asked the New Delhi to accept Pakistans invitation for dialogue on Kashmir to resolve the “complex issue” for lasting peace in the region.
Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had written to UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHRC) Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein to “end the persistent and egregious violation of basic human rights of the Kashmiri people”.
India has made statements about the situation in Baluchistan in the past as well.
“India and Pakistan should solve the conflict of Kashmir together”, read the letter.
“Pakistan is a responsible state and wants good relations with its neighbours but statements of Indian leadership regarding Pakistan are irresponsible”, he said. The FS added that despite the Modi government having made a huge effort to reach out to Pakistan, India has faced several terror attacks which have made “the relationship hard to grow”.
Jaishankar “also underlined the importance of bringing to justice all those guilty in Pakistan for the Mumbai terrorist attack of 2008 and Pathankot airbase attack (in January this year)”.
“More than three decades later, displaying a similar attitude, military personnel were infiltrated across the Line of Control in Kargil in 1999”. She said the letter of the UN Secretary General to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the issue is an evidence of our efforts.
“But unfortunately, the Centre has been saying “Kashmir is integral part of India”; they are not talking about the Valley people, they are only taking about the land of Kashmir”, he added. “Modi tried, albeit without success, to cover up the Indian state terrorism in the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir, where not only innocent people have lost their lives but thousands are injured and hundreds have been permanently blinded due to the use of pellet guns”, he added.

Omar, who held an all Opposition parties meeting earlier this week, will apprise the President about the continued difficulties being faced by the people because of continued curfew in the valley.
