The delegation concluded its visit on Monday with no breakthrough as the Hurriyat leaders refused to interact with the representatives. They expressed their concerns over the situation in Kashmir and were of the opinion that the problems in the Valley should be resolved at the earliest.

“There can be no compromises on the issues of national sovereignty”, it added.

“That has been our consistent stand and has been spelled out recently as well in our letters to various worldwide and global fora”, they said.

He also said that members appeal to the people of the state to shun the path of violence & resolve all issues through dialogue and discussion.

Miffed over the cold shoulder treatment given by separatists to the MPs, who were part of the all-party delegation that visited the state, the Centre is considering moves to curb their foreign travel by withdrawing their passports and denying travel documents in some cases.

With no meetings held with some separatists during the all party delegation’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir, the reported to curtail their privileges was seen as a response to the separatists’ snub to the delegation.

On the table was a proposal to review facilities, including top security, provided to Kashmir separatists. “We will decide our own fate within India and not accept any solution that New Delhi evolves to appease the separatists in Kashmir”, said Prof Hari Om while reflecting on the approach of the All-Party Delegation towards Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.

Chief of Army Staff General Dalbir Singh will visit Jammu and Kashmir today to review the security situation in the unrest-hit Valley.
