Kashmir unrest was ‘pre-planned’, only handful involved: CM
He accused both NC and PDP of using their all skills and efforts to “dilute the real issue” and said, “had Omar Abdullah taken a tough stand while meeting PM Modi and others, Modi would never have dared to offer talks within ambits of constitution of India and similarly if Mehbooba Ji rather shamefully accusing and abusing Kashmiris would have asked New Delhi to initiate dialogue in light of historic perspective and United Nations resolutions, it would have been a realistic and genuine approach”.

Former Chief Minister of Indian-occupied Kashmir, Omar Abdullah has said that unrest in Kashmir was not the product of Pakistan and blaming Pakistan for the ongoing protests in the disputed Himalayan region was like “living in denial”.
The reaction from the Congress came after Modi on Monday morning met with a delegation of opposition parties from Jammu and Kashmir led by former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
The delegation apprised the Prime Minister of the ground situation in the Valley which continues to remain under curfew for last 45 days. “Next step should be sending All Parties Delegation to J&K”, the senior Congress leader said in a tweet.
At an event in Jammu yesterday, Jaitley while acknowledging that the situation in Kashmir is “serious” asserted that there can be no compromise with those indulging in violence and described stone-pelters as “not satyagrahis but aggressors” who target police and security forces.
“Government and the nation stand with the state of Jammu and Kashmir”, the prime minister said, and suggested that all political parties should reach out to the people and convey the same.
For bringing an end to the unrest in the valley, Yechury recommended that the central government should start a political process with all sections of Kashmiri society, hinting that the government should talk to separatists also. If we don’t find a political solution to this, then every time we’ll repeat the same mistakes, ” he said. “We will get ample time to play political games later”.
“The Finance Minister should explain the contradiction between what he is saying and what the Prime Minister is saying”.
“We hope that our efforts will bear some fruits”. Omar said “we all should learn from our mistakes”.

The leaders flagged the issue of youths falling victims to the continued protests, including a young teenager named Irfan who was killed on Sunday night when a teargas shell hit him on his chest. “The most democratic way forward is to hold a referendum on both sides of the Line of Control and let the people decide or a meaningful engagement among the three parties – India, Pakistan and most importantly, the people of entire J&K, keeping in view their wishes and aspirations”, Mirwaiz added. “I am here to talk about my people in the state”. The Prime Minister today also expressed concern over the worsening flood situation in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand and promised total support from the centre in rescue and relief operations.
