Kashmir: US calls for talks; India hits back at Pakistan at UN
The spokesperson said that the “world today has a clear view of which country in our region covets the territory of others, uses terrorism as a matter of state policy, provides sanctuary to United Nations designated terrorists and terrorist groups and violates human rights”.

FILE- In this July 9, 2016 file photo, Kashmiri villagers carry the body of Burhan Wani, chief of operations of Indian Kashmir’s largest rebel group Hizbul Mujahideen, during his funeral procession in Tral, some 38 Kilometers (24 miles) south of Srinagar, Indian controlled Kashmir.
“America is supporting this oppression by India by saying it is an internal matter”, Saeed said in the interview, which took place at his home in the eastern city of Lahore.
Reiterating his appeal to people to continue the protests, chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Thursday said there is a need to find a lasting solution to the problem as killings on daily basis are intolerable.
Saeed said he will lead nationwide demonstrations in Pakistan to force its government to sever ties with the USA if it can not convince Washington to intervene in the decades-old Kashmir dispute.
Tearing into Pakistan’s ulterior motive to cash in on the protest-related deaths in the Kashmir Valley by racking up the issue at the United Nations platform, India has dubbed it as “an attempt to misuse the United Nations platform by a country that covets the territory of others and uses terrorism as state policy towards that misguided end”.
He said that Indian occupied forces have turned the whole valley into a jail and its forces have started new wave of terror by indiscriminate firing, torturing, killing and molestation of women but Kashmiri people could not be terrorized by such inhuman tactics as it has failed to do so for the last three decades, he added.
Meanwhile, 1500 of people are lying injured at all hospitals of Kashmir.
India’s excoriation of Pakistan was mild compared to what transpired in the US Congress a few hours before.
Since 1989, Kashmiri resistance groups in Indian-held Kashmir (IHK) have been fighting against Indian rule for independence or for unification with neighboring Pakistan.
“After the statement by the U.S. over this new situation, we will also have to launch our movement in this way, to gather all organisations in Pakistan to pressure the Pakistani government to hold the right dialogue with America over the Kashmir issue and convince them to go back to the right stance”, India’s most wanted terrorist said.
