Kasich: Count me out of any vice president sweepstakes
Fox News is slamming GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump for his repeated tirades against anchor Megyn Kelly on Twitter.

George Frey/Getty Images Republican presidential candidate and Ohio Gov. John Kasich voiced a hard no when asked if he would consider joining a Trump or Cruz ticket as a vice presidential candidate.
In the USA primary system, voters in each state determine how many delegates each candidate receives and the delegates then vote for the nominees at the conventions where each party selects its candidate. Romney, who made a major speech condemning Trump at the University of Utah earlier this month, announced on Facebook Friday he’ll vote for Cruz.
Some conservative activists went as far as holding a private meeting to find the right candidate, even if that means supporting a third party if Trump wins the nomination.
Once the vote moves to the House, I think Cruz and Manchin would have an easier time getting to the magic number of 26 state delegations to vote for them.
It will be a dramatic setback for Cruz if he is unable to capture all the delegates in Utah. Whether that is Kasich’s motivation in running interference for Trump or not, the thought of a potential Trump-Kasich ticket must put a smile on President Obama’s face.
The BYU political science professor said the poll makes it clear that if the GOP nominates Trump, “they may have trouble, serious trouble, in reliably Republican states like Utah” let alone the rest of the country. John Kasich is up nine points, now polling at 21 percent.
And Matt Pearce takes readers inside the bitter infighting at the conservative news site Breitbart over its friendliness toward the Trump campaign.
If we were talking about a normal candidate, rather than a unsafe demagogue, we’d say he had pretty much sealed the deal for the nomination. Campaign adviser Sam Clovis said “If that’s the path they want to go down, there will be consequences for that kind of thinking”.
The Democratic candidates fare even better against Trump among Utah’s many unaffiliated voters.
Kasich blamed the media for Trump’s rise, saying the networks gave $1.8 billion-worth of free air time, while “I got like none”. He needs to win 53 percent of the remaining 1,049 delegates to secure the nomination before the convention.
Erickson wrote in a statement after conservatives gathered in Washington to discuss ways to thwart Trump’s march to the nomination. “I will not”, Kasich said. Donald Trump is not fit to be president and commander in chief.
“I’m going to remind people we are Americans before we are anything else and we are stronger when we are together than when we are divided – period”, he said.
The Journal has not been able to interview Clovis since he joined the Trump team last summer.

While he claims to be expanding the GOP base, drawing in millions of new voters to Republican primaries, the loyalty of those voters are to Trump, and not to the party.
