Kasich ends White House bid; clears Trump’s path
Trump, 69, has said Republicans would unite to support him. That fact that what would typically be a “yawner” in any other Presidential race – a Republican former high-ranking official coming out in support of his party’s nominee – is actually big news speaks to the divisiveness of this primary season and just how far the presumptive nominee has to go to unify the party.

“There is no question that the president will be rolling up his sleeves and be out there quite a bit on the campaign trail in the summer and the fall”, said White House Communications Director Jen Psaki.
“I fully understand why Lindsey Graham can not support me”.
On Friday morning, Trump confirmed he meant to meet with Ryan next week, but wasn’t sure what they’d talk about. The GOP’s control of the Senate is at risk, and Trump could also be a down-ballot drag on several House contests as well.
Trump, who has built a huge following with an anti-establishment message, shot back at Ryan in a statement.
“A poker game”, said former Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele, summing up the turbulence.
One of the more vulnerable Senate Republicans – New Hampshire Sen. “Ryan champions free-trade agreements, global military engagement, and sweeping overhauls of Social Security and Medicare, whereas Trump is an avowed opponent of recent trade deals, foreign interventions and proposed changes to entitlement programs”, the Post reported.
US House Speaker Paul Ryan, the top Republican in Congress, said Thursday he was not ready to support Donald Trump as the party’s presumptive presidential nominee in November’s general election.
“He’s constantly out there talking about his agenda”, Zwick said of Ryan, adding: “Many people aren’t sure what the Trump agenda is yet”. Ryan’s office said that meeting will also be Thursday.
He said by the end of his first 100 days Muslims will be banned from entering this country, the design of the border wall separating us from Mexico will be complete, an audit of the Federal Reserve will be underway and the appeal of the Affordable Care Act will be in motion. “These are all reasons why I can not support his candidacy”, Bush said.
His remarks reflect the fact that though many Democrats and Republicans believe Clinton is favored to win given Trump’s high negatives with key demographics, lack of political experience and controversial rhetoric, the White House will take nothing for granted. And, he is not a consistent conservative.
The former Kansas senator, who railed against the candidacy of Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas in hopes of stopping Trump. Lindsey Graham has worked with Hillary Clinton in the past, but he said he can not vote for her in the general election.
“I do not believe he is a reliable Republican conservative nor has he displayed the judgment and temperament to serve as Commander in Chief”, the statement said.
Said Obama: “I think everybody knows what that math is”. “It’s important for us to take seriously the statements he’s made in the past”, said Obama here at a press conference. “Republican women voters are going to have to decide, ‘Is that the guy I feel comfortable with in representing me and what I care about?'”

Instead he balked, in comments that could also reflect concern for his own political future and potential run for president in 2020.
