John Kasich says he’s hoping for a contested Republican party convention in August to allow him to be the party’s nominee for President.

His comments came hours after he was endorsed by actor and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger at the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus and one day after he finished last in three of the four latest nominating contests.
Despite some erroneous reporting to the contrary this week, Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) made clear yesterday that he will not endorse anyone ahead of his state’s March 15 primary. In fact, CNN Money is already calling the campaign an “Apprentice” vs. “Apprentice” showdown now that Schwarzenegger is on the campaign trail for Kasich. I think a lot of that’s going to be determined by whether or not Trump wins Florida and Ohio.
He said it was “unlikely” any candidate would win the 1,237 delegates before the July convention.
“When he went to Washington, he kicked some serious butt”, said Schwarzenegger told an audience of hundreds in Columbus, according to NBC. “I know that poll is not accurate”. Jim Webb, who briefly sought the Democratic presidential nomination, said he wouldn’t vote for Hillary Clinton, but he might vote for Donald Trump. “John Kasich has run a good race”, said Colorado Sen.
On ABC, Kasich disputed Stephanopoulos’ theory that Kasich’s strategy was as a “spoiler” for Trump, saying he was running because he has “the record and the vision to run the United States of America”.
Arnold joined Kasich on the stage at the Battleground Ohio rally and prior to his official endorsement had already tweeted about the John Kasich rally in Ohio with an official link titled “Arnold Rally”.
Mr. Kasich, seeking to make up ground in the 2016 GOP presidential race, acknowledged to the grass-roots activists that the question of whether he’s a true conservative pops up often.
