Kasich pulls out of Republican race

On Wednesday, fresh off the win in Indiana’s primary that drove both his rivals out of the race, Trump pledged to unify the party and said he was getting calls from people who had criticized him in the past but now wanted to back him.

Democrats, however, warn that Republicans can’t outrun Trump’s shadow.

Leading up to Tuesday’s IN primary, the real-estate magnate slammed Kasich for his support for the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Kasich came in second in the New Hampshire primary with 15.8 percent of the vote, edging out Cruz with 11.7, but falling well behind Trump’s 35.3 percent.

And I posit that Trump will challenge Clinton for the black vote. What they’re really doing is running away from their party.

“There’s no question from my perspective that Governor Kasich’s the best choice to be president of the United States”, Starr said, calling Kasich “the only Republican candidate that beats Hillary Clinton in a head-to-head”.

As the campaign moves forward, expect Trump’s children, who have campaigned by their father’s side, to hit key states, at times solo, as they’ve proven to be effective messengers.

In a stunning intervention, US House Speaker Paul Ryan, the highest ranking leading Republican, said he could not support Mr Trump.

Those anti-Trump forces had tried a similar tack earlier this year with a blistering ad aimed at women voters – especially crucial for any candidate in the general election. As Trump sought to rally the fractured party behind him, many prominent Republicans got behind the reality TV star and real estate developer, while some weighed their options. “I have business very much covered”.

Inside the event, Clinton began her speech a short time later by attacking Trump instead of her Democratic rival Sanders, a Vermont senator.

Even as Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus telegraphed that the party should let bygones be bygones and unite behind Trump, there were plenty of signs Wednesday that would not be an easy task.

“We’re going to win in November, and we’re going to win big”. That clears the path for Trump, a nominal Presbyterian who has had difficulty pronouncing a book of the Bible, to be the GOP nominee. On Tuesday, Trump won at least 51 of the state’s 57 delegates. “I haven’t started on that process because I’ve been focused on the nomination, which is probably wise”, remarked Trump.

In a campaign dominated by an aggressive frontrunner who bullied other candidates and gave them nicknames like “Lyin’ Ted” and “Little Marco”, Kasich attempted to stand above the fray.
