Kasich says he won’t endorse Trump or serve as VP
John Kasich on Monday bluntly dismissed speculation that he might resurrect his presidential campaign, as an independent or another third-party representative, to oppose presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump.

“I’m not gonna do that”, the OH governor told CNN’s Anderson Cooper in an interview Monday.
In the interview with CNN, Kasich said of his April speech, outlining two “paths” in the Republican Party: “That’s my insides”. “I think it’s not constructive”. “I just don’t think it would be the right thing to do”.
Remember, this came after Ted Cruz dropped out, but before Kasich did the same the next day. “You know, I just don’t think it would be the right thing to do”.
Kasich said he had received a phone call from “somebody” asking him to consider a third-party bid, as some Republicans loath to support Trump scramble for options in the general election.
The Post reported that 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney made an effort to court Kasich for the bid in recent days. “He just wanted to get thing over”. We’ll see what he does.
“I have renewed faith, deeper faith, that the Lord will show me the way forward and fulfill the objective of my life”, Kasich said while announcing his departure on May 4. “He has a chance to move to the positive side and unify this country”.
Kasich, who has run twice for president, has good reason to take a pass – from a political standpoint, if nothing else.
Kasich suspended his presidential campaign earlier this month. And I’m really actually excited about getting back here with my team for the State of Ohio. “I left a message for the head of the Senate campaign committee”.
Unless Trump changes, the GOP will have a tough time in both OH and nationally, Kasich said.
